Douglas Allen represents the Saylesville District (District 1) on the Lincoln Town Council. Doug has been a member of the Town Council since defeating the incumbent in June of 1997. He won re-election in November of 1998. In his two terms on the council, he has served on every committee and chaired the Ordinance committee in his first term. Doug and his wife Karen along with their two children live at 6 Kilburn Ave. He is a member of Christ Church, and has served on its Vestry and as the Junior Warden. He is a 10-year member of the Rotary Club of Pawtucket, serving as President in 1993-1994 and has been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He has just been elected to his third term on its Board of Directors. Doug is a graduate of Lincoln High School, graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and attended the University of Rhode Island MBA program for four years. With a partner, he owns Clark Mini Fastener, a manufacturer of miniature pins, screws and stampings for the high tech electronic, as well as the jewelry industry. In 1990, he was awarded the Rhode Island and New England Young Entrepreneur Award by the United States Small Business Administration recognizing business excellence in someone under 30 years of age. He is an incorporator at Memorial Hospital and serves on the board of the Providence Children's Museum's annual golf tournament.
